Anaiss and her Wheelchair BOOST Invention

Each and every participant who joined in our most recent BOOST workshop came to the event with different views and ideas of what interests them. Anaiss came in with an open mind and left five days later with an actual boost to help her reach for items there were just a little difficult to grab.

The entire goal of our workshops is to introduce design thinking and show kids with disabilities how they can take their lived experiences and turn them into solutions. Anaiss wanted to figure out a way to get taller in her wheelchair. With the help of our incredible volunteers, her vision came true. Take a look:

A huge thank you to the Autodesk team for telling Anaiss' story.

After the workshop, Anaiss got to use her two-inch lift at home! It's THRILLING to see her put her concept into action. In just five days, Anaiss invented a way to get taller! I'm bursting with pride and I am so thankful we had so many wonderful volunteers to pitch in and make sure she left with a working prototype. We are excited to see her next concepts turn into reality.
